Speed mania hits New Delhi
|
New Delhi will be the speed capital of India with Maruti Suzuki Autocross. Regular
city roads play host to a specially designated track for the rally. A plethora of
twists and turns, short straights, and mind-numbing variations in surface keep the
adrenaline pumping.
Autocross today has over 300 intense competitors in comparison to only 40 when it
first kicked off in 2002. Young motor sport fans particularly long for this event
as it acts as their license for incredible thrill. Low entry costs further reinforce
their interest, and encourage youngsters to floor the accelerator and test their
mettle against other fans and even professionals in racing. It also provides them
with a chance to enhance their driving skills in a safe environment. Maruti Suzuki
leaves no stone unturned when it comes to safety, with all events being monitored
by the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of India and Safety Stewards.
With a radical increase in the number of entrants, one day has been dedicated to
the qualifying rounds for testing both vehicles and drivers. This helps to pick
out the best from the rest who will move on to the final rounds.
